Vienna is the capital of
Austria and lies at the heart of Central Europe. Known as the city of music, it is the birthplace of the
Waltz and the resting place of
Beethoven. This grandiose city once controlled most of Europe, but is now better known for its enviable collections of historic and artistic treasures.
Traveller
Ian Wright begins his trip at the
Hofburg Palace, once home to the famous
Hapsburg Dynasty. He then heads for the cities cemetery which lays rest to over two and a half million people. After a look around the
Freud Museum he heads out of town to learn
Mauthausen's gruesome past. Returning to Vienna he ends his journey at one of the cities famous balls.
